Help! My PS3 3 Has the 3 Beeps!

Are you a victim of the PS3 3 beeps? Then you'll be interested to know what causes it and what you can do about it. To find out read on!

PS3 3 Beeps - What You Can Do About It

The PS3 3 beeps is a common occurrence that is usually caused when you press the eject button on an empty disk drive. There are other multiple causes of this problem from the not so serious cause of turning off your PS3 when it is trying to do something else (like trying to access the hard drive) to the much more causes such as the CPU or GPU being disconnected from the motherboard.

How often are you getting the PS3 3 beeps?
If you have only experienced this problem once or twice with a long space of time between the occurrences then it may be that it isn't a serious problem and maybe you can ignore it. If your PS3 is still under warranty though and you have gotten this problem even if it is only a few times then you should call Sony anyways to see if it be checked out or if you can send it in for repairs. You wouldn't want your warranty to expire then to find out you've got a serious problem!

For those who are experiencing the PS3 3 beeps frequently- especially if it comes with a red or yellow light- then something is definitely wrong with your PS3 and it needs repairing.

You basically have 2 options for repairing the PS3 3 beeps
You can send it to Sony. This will cost you $150, unless your PS3 is under warranty. Also you will have to wait 4-6 weeks to get you PS3 back.

The second option fix the PS3 3 beeps yourself. In order to do this you will need a good PS3 repair guide. A good guide should help you to identify the problem and contain step-by-step instructions on how to safely fix it. It should also have pictures and maybe even videos to help you better understand what to do. Additionally it should have some sort of support such as a members' area or email support so that you can ask for help if you get stuck repairing your PS3. The benefit to getting a good PS3 repair guide is that if your PS3 encounters another problem in the future then you may be able to fix that problem too!

If you are thinking of repairing your PS3 by yourself you MUST have a good repair guide otherwise you may be unable to repair it or even stand the risk of damaging your PS3 further. If you are interested in repairing your PS3 yourself, check out this PS3 repair guide!

I have seen two good PS3 repair guides on the internet:

YLOD Repair Wizard

PS3LIGHTSFIX

They seem to have almost all of the things you need to look for in a good repair guide:step-by step instructions, pictures and videos, some sort of support ect.
